Emaldo® – Grid Rewards announcement 19.5.2025

Below is the Emaldo® press release published on May 19, 2025 about the Emaldo® – Grid Rewards program.

Activating Grid Rewards in Finland is a top priority for Emaldo and we have been actively promoting full operational readiness in the Finnish market.

To accelerate our market entry, we have acquired Checkwatt, a company specializing in electricity grid reserve services, as well as a fully approved and active BRP (Balance Responsible Party) in Finland.

Now that Checkwatt is part of the Emaldo family, we have integrated our technology using a single connection with grid operators to build BRP and the grid. This gives us greater flexibility in the quantity and quality of services we provide to Fingrid.

As part of this collaboration, Checkwatt has taken over the Emaldo portfolio, and the currently installed capacity of 7 MW is now being sent to Fingrid via Checkwatt’s BRP framework.

It is important to note that all Emaldo devices installed in the future will be approved and delivered through a Checkwatt operator already approved in Fingrid’s system.

Both Emaldo and Checkwatt are working closely to finalize and submit all necessary information and eligibility applications to Fingrid. This joint approach aims to ensure rapid and reliable market entry.

The current expected timeline for full rollout of the service in Finland is approximately six weeks. Until Grid Rewards is live, Emaldo will continue to charge a flat monthly fee of EUR 150 to end users.

We remain committed to bringing Grid Rewards to the Finnish market as quickly as possible and will regularly update you on our progress.
