We are pleased to announce that Energio Finland Oy has signed a letter of intent with eight Finnish companies to establish a joint venture so that housing can be developed more sustainably and efficiently in the future.
“The joint venture to be established embodies our vision that regional and structurally integrated energy solutions will increase significantly in the near future”
The consortium establishing the joint venture has just received funding for a project worth 200,000 euros from the Ministry of the Environment’s Growth and Development from Wood support programme for the development of the Gadoli Smart Village in Mynämäki. Several negotiations are underway to start regional construction projects of 10,000-40,000 m2 in Finland, and plans are underway to start exporting the sustainable housing concept in the coming years.
ASV Arctic Smart Village Oy, Vastuu Group, Platform Of Trust, Holda Group, Energio, NollaE Oy, KJ-A Arkkitehtitoimisto Oy, SustainaBuild Oy (Ecococon) and Vuokranet Oy signed a letter of intent to establish a joint venture. The joint venture aims to offer a new, carbon-neutral, economically, ecologically and socially sustainable model for residential construction, with a high quality of life. At the same time, the consortium will make smart technology an integral part of housing. Thanks to smart technology, significant savings can be achieved in housing costs and improved living comfort.
The companies’ areas of expertise complement each other in the best possible way. In addition, the platform-based business model enables cooperation with both local companies and large corporations in the implementation of residential areas.
Carbon neutrality with energy solutions
The joint venture to be established will have an enviable level of expertise in developing sustainable housing. Its expertise in ecological building materials is internationally recognized. Likewise, its expertise in ecological architectural design. In building design, special attention is paid to the durability and properties of materials. In order to maximize the energy and cost efficiency of buildings and areas, the concept utilizes an artificial intelligence-based optimization algorithm. Seasonal storage solutions make it possible to meet the year-round heating energy needs in a residential area entirely with solar energy. Heating costs are up to 25 times cheaper than geothermal energy.
Sustainability of housing also includes social sustainability. Research shows that community is the second most important factor in improving the quality of housing. The concept includes supporting community and increasing social capital in many ways. The solutions are economic, structural, operational and technical, but based on voluntary action.
The establishment of the joint venture is being prepared simultaneously with the progress of ongoing projects. The joint venture’s products are Älykylä® and Älykortteli™.
