Pilot sites for a revolutionary platform-less wind turbine!

There have been many challenges in Finland in utilizing wind power in buildings. Now, a solution is coming for larger properties. Namely, Aeromine Technologies has developed a platform-less, or stationary wind turbine, as the company calls it. Stationary means that the solution has no moving parts visible from the outside. Therefore, the solution also does not produce problems typical of conventional wind power, such as noise or vibration.

The technology uses the negative pressure created by the wind and the upward flow of air, combined with the aerodynamics of the solution, to generate energy. The solution produces electricity directly to the property without a separate inverter. It can also withstand fierce storm winds and, on the other hand, starts up with very low wind load.

Aeromine is intended to be combined with solar power, which will provide a very consistent output in different conditions. This is a very welcome feature in Finland, as winters are on average windier than summers, as are cloudy and rainy days. Thus, together the solutions will produce renewable energy all year round and around the clock.

Under good conditions, one Aeromine produces 10 – 15,000 kWh of electricity per year. Combined with the price level of the solution, this creates a very profitable investment with very short payback periods.
We are pleased to announce that we are looking for the first pilot sites for the solution in Finland.

What about the pilot?

  • Aeromine’s functionality and yield are being piloted in larger properties in Finnish conditions. The solution is designed to withstand snow and wind.
  • It would be preferable to combine the solution with photovoltaics or hybrid panels to easily compare and verify the balancing effect of the solutions between different seasons and different weather conditions.
  • If the site is eligible for energy subsidies, energy subsidies are applied for. Since this is a new technology, pilot sites should receive increased energy subsidies. The increased energy subsidies are 20-40% of the investment value.
  • As an option, the pilot can also be combined with our partner’s battery solution, allowing the utilization of wind electricity generated at night, for a broader energy efficiency project or other solutions.

What kind of pilot projects are we looking for?

Naturally, the solution is not suitable for all locations.
  • Preferably 15 meters high or higher. A lower building will also work if the site is very windy, on a hill, the tallest building in the area, in a completely open area, on the beach, etc. The solution benefits from the wind rising along the facade.
  • I like to be in a spacious place.
  • Flat roof
  • For example, industrial building, hall, apartment building, hospital
  • A sufficiently large target. One Aeromine takes up about 5 m of space. In an optimal piloting situation, 5 Aeromines or more are installed on the target.

What types of sites are not suitable as pilot sites?

  • Detached houses
  • Small buildings
  • Very low buildings
  • Buildings that are in a forest, shade, or otherwise quiet location
  • Pitched roof items

Pilots’ schedule

The pilots for Aeromine’s wind turbines are planned to be implemented, depending slightly on Aeromine’s schedule, during Q3-4 2023 – Q1 2024.

For photovoltaic systems, hybrid panels and other solutions, projects can naturally be implemented earlier.

Join the pilot!

There is a limited number of sites in the pilot and we anticipate that the pilot will fill up quickly. So please let us know your site as soon as possible. It does not bind you to anything. In the first stage, we will assess the suitability of the site.
