Mylly Shopping Center - Finland's second-largest wall-mounted solar panel installation

When driving through Raisio, it’s hard not to notice the Mylly Shopping Center and its south wall. That’s because the south wall boasts Finland’s second-largest wall-mounted solar panel installation. A total of 875 Canadian Solar panels have been installed on the shopping center’s wall, which is over half a kilometer long.

Port of Kalajoki - Wind Power, Solar Power, and Batteries

It’s windy along the shores of Kalajoki. And the harbor is no exception, as it’s located right on the open sea. The Port of Kalajoki is, in fact, the perfect location to pilot a new type of wind turbine designed for the built environment, combined with solar panels and a battery system for the reserve market.

The project will generate a significant portion of the electricity needed by the port without any of that electricity being sold, unless the self-generated energy is used as part of trading on the reserve market.

Tripla Workery - Solar Panels for Three Office Towers in Challenging Wind Conditions

The Triplan Towers stand as a majestic landmark above Pasila in Helsinki. The height of the towers poses its own challenges for the installation of solar panels, as wind loads must be managed. For this reason, we carried out the installation using a welded east-west scaffold. We used Aikon panels with optimized shading at the cell level, and snow guards in the center of the panels to ensure long-term functionality.

Toivo Studios - Solar Panels and Battery Storage Enhance Living

Toivo Studios is a property in Leppävaara, Espoo, surrounded by stunning nature and specializing in temporary housing. In these high-quality apartments, electricity is included in the rent. So it’s only natural that a large portion of it is generated by solar power.

Helsinki, Roihuvuori - 5 apartment building projects completed - Over 1,100 solar panels and 22 charging stations

Roihuvuori in Helsinki is an excellent example of how doing one project well leads to more projects following. To date, we have installed solar power systems on the roofs of a total of 12 buildings in the area, belonging to five different companies. And these aren’t just any systems—the total number of solar panels has risen to nearly 1,200.

Similarly, residents of the area can enjoy kilometers of solar-powered electricity thanks to the 22 electric vehicle charging stations that have been installed.

Solar Power Systems for Gable Roofs

The most common way to install a solar power system is on a pitched roof, parallel to the roof slope. Whether it’s a business, a condominium, a farm, or a single-family home, solar panels installed parallel to the roof generate cost-effective green energy.

Solar Power Systems for Flat Roofs

Solar power systems can be installed on flat roofs using either south-facing or east-west-facing mounting brackets. Installation can be done using floating weight stones, felt welding, or a combination of the two.

Wall-mounted solar power systems

Solar panels can also be mounted on a wall if the roof area is insufficient for a system of the desired size, if the roof is otherwise unsuitable for installation, or if a more consistent output profile is desired. When mounted on a wall, the panels’ output is approximately 75–85% of that of a comparable rooftop installation.
