High support maximizes profitability

Support for energy investments on farms is currently 40% of approved costs until 2027.

According to an expert from the Ministry of Energy and Water, geothermal energy, solar panels, wind turbines and battery solutions are possible targets for support.

The prerequisite is the use of energy in agricultural production activities (calculation of energy use) and the continued profitability of agriculture (no more income limits).

Solar panels on the barn roof

Rooftop solar panels for the farm

On farms, the electricity consumption profile often matches very well with the solar power production. There is also often enough roof area without shading.

Efficient solar panels for ground installation in the yard

Ground-mounted solar panels

Farms often have a lot of space to install the panels on the ground, allowing them to be positioned in the optimal direction and angle. At the same time, the yield of the back side of the double-sided glass-glass panels is utilized, up to +25%. In addition, the panels are easy to keep clean of snow and other dirt.

Solar panels

A fence made of double-sided solar panels that efficiently produces electricity. Fence structures from a domestic manufacturer. Thanks to the vertical installation, the fence produces excellently in early spring and late autumn.

With double-sided panels, you can produce from early morning to late evening.

Solar panels on the barn wall

Solar panels for the wall

Solar panels can also be installed on the wall of a combine harvester or barn, for example. On a south-facing wall, the yield is approximately 75% of the yield of south-facing roof-mounted solar panels (at a 30 degree angle), but the yield is significantly higher in winter, spring and autumn.

Wind power for farms

Wind power produces energy all year round and 24 hours a day. For this reason, it balances solar power very well. We offer Tugen wind turbines in four different sizes, manufactured in Tallinn.

Reserve market batteries for the farm

Batteries that participate in the reserve market, store self-produced electricity for use and, if necessary, optimize the use of exchange-traded electricity. Solutions from small 10 kW solutions to large solutions over 1MW.

Gross income approximately 27€/kW/month. E.g. 100 kW with battery 32568€ (2024)

Energy roof renovation

A new type of roof coating that saves a lot of cooling energy. The roof remains 20-25 degrees in the summer, making it wonderfully cool inside. Reflects 85% of the light. For all roof types. 25 years of new life for old roofs at a fraction of the price of roof renovation. For new roofs, reflectivity as a lightweight coating. 10-year warranty.

Hybrid Panels

Hybrid panels produce electricity and heat at the same time. Temperature levels are relatively low, which makes it best to replace some of the geothermal wells in the Nordic region with hybrid panels. This way, you get solar electricity with the same investment. Hybrid panels can also be used to effectively revive a cooled geothermal system.

Installation phase of a seasonal thermal storage system. A spiral-shaped pipe system buried in the ground that acts as a thermal battery, storing energy in the soil.

Seasonal Heat Storage

On farms, the need for heat can be high. In these situations, it is possible to build a seasonal heat storage in the soil, especially in clay and sandy soils. The storage can be used to transfer large amounts of heat from summer to winter with an efficiency of over 50%. The solution scales from approximately 350 MWh to 5 GWh. Carbon dioxide emissions are 0 and the price of energy is really low, depending on the production method.

Solar thermal roof

The roof, the roof slope, or part of the slope of a building can be built as a solar thermal collector. The collector can also be installed in the ground. This creates surfaces that collect very high temperatures efficiently, which can be combined with, for example, seasonal heat storage, where the heat produced is free.
